Capcom has announced their newest fighting game entitled Marvel vs Capcom Origins, the game feature a new downloadable compilation that will include the The two-game bundle will include Marvel Super Heroes (first released in 1995 for the Sony PlayStation, SEGA Dreamcast and Arcade), as well as Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Heroes (originally released in 1998 for Arcade, though it was ported to both PlayStation and Dreamcast the following year). that will become available this Fall.

Marvel vs Capcom Origins featuring Two Of Capcom Hits

The two game  compilation will include the two hit games the  ‘vs.’ games, Marvel vs Capcom: The Clash of Superheroes and also Marvel Super Heroes which as we already know those games were fighting games fan’s favourites in their time. Marvel Super Heroes was released in 1995 for the Sony Playstation, Sega Dreamcast and Arcades.  Famitsu awarded it 33 points out of 40 because the Dreamcast version of the game did very well with the critics.

Both games in the bundle is very famous in the  mid- and late-1990s. Super Heroes is actually based on “The Infinity Gauntlet” comic book series, in the game setting we can see characters from Marvel’s heroes fight against each other and ultimately the main antagonist Thanos for control of all-powerful gems that can have the power to bend reality to whatever the holder of the gems desires.

Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes is maybe considered a sequel to Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, but more on that  they improved the gameplay by adding a Duo Team Attack mode that made players able to control two characters simultaneously. Although the Marvel vs Capcom series has continue to improved by some new installments with new mechanics and characters, the original games still have a lot of fans and still holding on.

Marvel vs Capcom Origins project will provide both titles equipped with high-definition visual upgrades, and also along with trophies/achievements, dynamic challenges and a replay saving ability.

Capcom has confirmed that the game is not going to be upgraded to 16:9 widescreen. Offcourse that news is really dissapointing somehow, but the fans will be pleased to know that the game will feature eight-player lobbies, and also a spectator mode.

Some of the game enthusiast might  doubt Capcom’s decision to release this game on this year as capcom  is also planning to release Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Uncanny Edition which will also be a downloadable title for $15 on PSN and 1200MS points on XBL Marketplace. And we can guess that fans will have a hard time deciding which between the two games to be on their console.

Some fans are skeptical and believe that Capcom is likely to re-release a true HD version of the game as well after some time as the company is known for its notorious re-releases of old games.

The Marvel vs Capcom Origins bundle will also include the  online play for both games that is based on the GGPO networking technology that is used in the publisher’s previous downloadable fighters. The game will also have lobbies for up to eight players, a spectator mode, new in-game challenges, replay saving, and a variety of HD filter options. For those who wonder about the pricing, the game will be available to download for $15 (1,200 Microsoft points).
